The first of many!
Okay, so maybe it wasn’t the biggest king ever caught on the American River, but it was 12-year-old Kyle’s first-ever and he was super stoked! He hooked the fish on a MagLip plug and is now entered into our October 2011 Hawg of the Month Contest in which he’ll have a shot at a
Pautzke’s hat and, if he moves on to the finals at the end of the year, a chance at a free fishing trip for two with guide Bill Swann of
Swanny’s Fishing.
Nice work, kid!

Okay, so it wasn't a striper...but I don't think Dustin minded!
While tossing Super Spooks at night in the California Delta for stripers, Dustin here got a nice little surprise when this bonus jumbo largemouth bass blew up on his plug.
The big fish measured 26 inches long and probably weighed at least 10 pounds! For his efforts, Dustin is now entered into our Sept. Hawg of the Month Contest and will go up against other Sept. entries and battle it out for the top monthly slot. If he wins, Dustin earns some
Pautzke Bait Co. headgear and then would advance to the Hawg Bowl playoffs in which he would have a shot at winning a guided fishing trip for two with

That's not a jack!
The salmon fishing on the Sacramento River has been extremely good this season though, so far, the majority of the fish have been on the smaller side. Orlando Torres, however, bucked the trend and nailed this big buck while drifting roe with me on a trip last week.
In addition to taking home some nice fillets, Orlando is entered into our Hawg of the Month Contest in which he’ll have a shot at winning some
Pautzke’s headgear and, should he advance to the Hawg Bowl Playoffs, Orlando could win a trip for two with

Yesp, that's a big one!
When Amanda Fairbanks chucked a glob of chicken liver out into the Sacramento River Labor Day weekend, she had catfish on the brain. Sadly, no cats bit…but she did land 3 striped bass, including this behemoth, which is the latest entry into our Sept. 2011 Hawg of the Month Contest.
Amanda will go up against other Sept. entries and battle it out for the top monthly slot. If she wins, she earns some
Pautzke Bait Co. headgear and the could advance to the Hawg Bowl playoffs in which she would have a shot at a guided fishing trip for two with

Jim Ponsford’s Alaskan halibut easily took top honors in our Hawg of the Month Contest for August. If you’ve got a big fish, send us a pic!

Taco Time!
Jigger extraordinaire, Barron Von Cridenhausen, shows off the fruit of his latest efforts: A nice 17-pound California halibut, jigged up on a homemade lure.
For his efforts, the good Barron earns a bid into this month’s Hawg of the Month Contest in which he’ll have a shot at winning some
Pautzke’s headgear and, should he advance to the Hawg Bowl Playoffs, he could win a trip for two with
Swanny’s Fishing.
The coolest thing about fishing saltwater is you just never know what you’re going to hook. Just ask Dave Hunt, who hooked this thresher shark while yo-yo’ing iron in California’s Tomales Bay for halibut.
In addition to enjoying a spectacular fight in which the fish spent most of the time airborne, Dave also earns a bid into this month’s Hawg of the Month Contest in which he’ll have a shot at winning some Pautzke’s headgear and, should he advance to the Hawg Bowl Playoffs, Hunt could win a trip for two with Swanny’s Fishing.
