And there's none of that sticky Power Goo residue...cool!
Living in the big city, Josh Clark is well versed in planted trout & catfishing…but not wild Chinook. Well, that all changed when Mark Scatchard took his soon to be former friend out to Nor Cal’s Eel River and got out-fished. As you can see from the pic, Josh was stoked and may soon be swearing off the stockers and cats for good.
The fish munched a 1/5-ounce read/gold Cleo and was released after the grip and grin.
For his efforts, Josh is now entered into our Hawg of the Month Contest, in which he’ll have a shot at the monthly prize of some headgear compliments of
Pautzke Bait Co. and maybe an entry into the Hawg Bowl Playoffs next month…where he could earn a fishing trip for two (I’m guessing who he would probably have to bring along) with guide Bill
Swann of Swanny’s Fishing. by JD on November 10, 2011

I kinda figured a 50-pound chrome Chinook was gonna be tough to beat…and that was the case in the October Hawg of the Month vote, in which Chris App pretty much blew the competition outta the water. Chris gets a Pautzke’s hat for his efforts (send us your contact info when you get a chance) and also is entered into next month’s Hawg Bowl Playoffs in which he’ll get a shot at a fishing trip for two with guide Bill Swann of Swanny’s Fishing.

Alaska & Hawaii love Chris!

WOW!!!
All I can say is…holy crap…that’s one helluva nice king!! Adam Baker of Roseville, CA trolled up this 45-pound, 47-inch chrome beauty of a Chinook Salmon on the Sacramento River near Verona (well over 100 miles inland!) on a double Silvertron Spinner on Oct. 25th and, for obvious reasons, is entered into our Nov. 2011 Hawg of the Month Contest.
November is the final month to enter Hawgs as December is set aside for the Hawg Bowl Playoffs…this year’s winner gets a fishing trip for two with top Northwest Guide Bill “Swanny” Swann of
Swanny’s Fishing. Monthly winners get some
Pautzke’s headgear.

Major Slabbage!
Southern Oregon’s Chetco River is a major producer of titanic kings and Chris App of Santa Cruz, CA joined the 50-pound club with this monster he hooked in the river’s estuary while fishing with guide Andy Martin of
Wild Rivers Fishing.
According to Martin, Salmonzilla ate a whole green-label herring brined in Pautzke’s Fire Brine after a 20-minute fight. As our latest Hawg of the Month Contest entry, App will have a chance to earn some
Pautzke’s headgear at the end of the month when the public gets to vote on their favorite big fish. If he moves on to the Hawg Bowl Playoffs, App could possibly win the grand prize: a fishing trp for two with
Swanny’s Fishing.

Your winner!
The vote is in and Amanda and her big Sacramento River striper ran away with the September Hawg of the Month Contest. For her efforts, Amanda wins a new fishin’ hat compliments of
Pautzke and will get a shot at the grand prize, a fishing trip with Bill Swanny Swann of
Swanny’s Fishing at the end of the year in the 2011 Hawg Bowl Playoffs!

The grin says it all!
Just a short while before Matt Dwillis caught this big American River king, he had landed the first salmon of his life, a nice 9 pounder. Good thing he had a little practice…this jumbo Chinook gave him a battle royale on 12-pound flouro leader and a light spinning stick. In all my years of guiding, I have never seen someone have so much fun landing a fish. Matt grinned and laughed all the way through the fight…Guys like him help me remember why I love my job…
Matt’s second-ever king turned out to be the largest fish of his life and therefore needs to be entered into the October Hawg of the Month Contest. At the end of the month, you guys will get to vote for Matt (or any of his fellow entrants) and winner gets some headgear from
Pautzke and then is also entered into the Hawg Bowl Playoffs, coming in December. Hawg Bowl winners get a free fishing trip for two with
Bill Swanny Swann, one of the Northwest’s premier guides.
