   Its called halo lightning and is caused by thermal inversion, usually called heat lightning.

   was thinking of trying salmon fishing this weekend on the sac river in Sacramento
   what does this kind of weather do to fishing? and what gear?
   I am new at this and haven’t been on the river before
   any help

     Low pressure can mess with a salmon bite…but rain may also spark another good push of fish to move through. Try trolling sardine wrapped FlatFish or Silvertrons…

   Did you see a logo in the sky? I suspect it might have been remnants of that record-breaking, Red Bull-funded skydive. 24 miles up there…had to leave some kind of halo!
