I’ll side with John and Bentley. I think Oar fish and ribbon fish are the same thing, This one looks to be a young one since they can get up to 40′to 50′ long.
I think it’s lost, should be in the Atlantic or Gulf of Mexico… that’s where Cutlass Fish habitate..at least it seems to be one. They are prehistoric fish and live in very deep seas. Long and snakelike, could be confused with a type of eel… maybe its an omen … we can always blame it on global warming….
