About all you can say about this one is…Holy Crap! On July 16, an angler visiting BC from England landed one of the largest freshwater fish ever taken on rod and reel: a 12-foot, 4-inch long (53″ girth!!) white sturgeon estimated to way in excess of 1,100 pounds!
The massive beast was hooked in the Fraser River took 1.5 hours to subdue. Read the entire story here: Great River Fishing

What a photo op. didnt even need to hold that one towards camera or photoshop, good memory of a GREAT vacation i suspect, thanks for taking a picture home and not that FISH
Hey JD how old would you say that fish is??
I’m ashamed to say my biggest is 157 pounds, this guy would have eaten him like bait!
Butch…
Its a shame to think that the delta could hold fish like that if it weren’t for water hungry millionaires and polotitions and a lack of care for our estuary. If so , you might even switch to fishing sturgeon JD!
Wow!!!
Wow! What a fish. I know this is out of the subject but I spoke to a lot of people regarding fishing at night for salmon in the Freeport area and I got mixed responses. It was about half and half in whether or not you can. Ray
I suppose this is the new IGFA world record for C&R in the White Sturgeon division.
I think Holy Crap says it all.
What a Treat for them, Great Photo
