If the Peripheral Tunnels are built, the sun will soon be setting on the CA Delta
Governor Jerry Brown is going to appear at the California State Capitol on Wednesday to announce his plan to build the Peripheral Canal.
In a nutshell, if built, the canal will be a death sentence for one of the greatest estuaries on the West Coast. This colossal mistake would exterminate our salmon, steelhead, sturgeon and shad runs, while destroying Delta farms and costing tax payers tens of billions of dollars…all to benefit a small number of growers well to the south.
Worse, the science behind the project was found to be extremely faulty and biased…but the proponents came back with an absolutely asinine proposal to build it now and then figure out how to manage it later.
This will absolutely kill the fisheries of the Delta, Sacramento River, Feather River, American River, San Joaquin River, Mokelumne River, Yuba River and many more.

And he thinks we are going to vote to raise taxes this November to give them more money to spend on irresponsible and dangerous projects like the high speed rail and the peripheral canal. Ha ha, what a moron! Brown hid his fangs and horns for a couple years but his true colors are shining through.
Funny How we hear little about who’s gunna pay for it and how we payers get any return for our investment (only water brokers profit$$$$$$$$$$$$$$), or how can a$ 50 gazillion dollar citizen funded project NOT go on a ballot, Every official from nor cal should be embarrassed to vote for this (who’s pressuring the legislature)???? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
jerry brown does not give dam about the fish population. that is going to piss off a lots of fisherman who fish the delta or the rivers for a sport. if they need water why do they make their own canal to the ocean.
we sure don’t need more pumps & canals to take our sac. river water south! enough already!
Jerry Brown should not have been elected, and not just for this asinine plan to send more water to the south land to water golf courses, but for the same ideas he keeps proposing. Even me a Democrat, should cross party lines sometimes to vote for someone who has to ability to fix this State! It’s the same old song and dance with
Jerry!
If Brown wants water have him take all of the reclaimed water from all of the sewer plants!!!!
