This round of Name that Fish comes to us from the East Coast, where this trout X char hybrid is a popular sport fish. Because it is sterile, this fish puts all its energy into growing instead of reproduction. Apparently, he’s also quite an aggressive bugger.
Using the comments section below, can you Name that Fish?

Tiger!
Looks more like a leopard trout.
bull trout
Beautiful fish!!
Kaleidoscope Trout!
I agree it’s a Tiger Trout……..
Tiger trout – intergeneric hybrid of the brown trout and the brook trout…..
ahha. I did not know a brook was from the char family. Thank you for the info.
Cheers
Yes sir : )
Bucking the trend… Splake! (although a mighty odd looking one at that) LOL
Salmo crayola, or “crayon trout”.
This is a fantastic species for entertainment. Set the kiddies down and have them find the path from front to back. Not good table fare though…waxy.
Hahaha! I love it!
Jeff what happens if you use a peach crayon ?
Peach…are you CRAZY? For trout you can only use lemon yellow or dill green. Maybe in a pinch you could get away with cedar plank red…but never peach.
A tiger trout is a cross between a female Brown trout and a male Brook trout.
Trout tiger
char x trout? I thought a Tiger was a brook and a brown?
A brook trout is in the char family and is not a true trout. The brown is a trout hence the “char x trout “
