The BPA's top squaw catchers earned some serious coin!
At the Portland show last week, we stopped in and checked out the Bonneville Power Administration’s Northern Pikeminnow Sport Reward Program booth and we were blown away by what the top squaw anglers were making. The number one cat cleared $80K in 2010!
In an effort to lean out the population of predatory pikeminnow (squawfish) in the Columbia River to help juvenile salmon and steelhead survive, BPA has a bounty program in which hook and line anglers can earn $4 to $8 each for every squawfish they catch over 9 inches in length.
