Spawning Kokanee salmon

Okay, so maybe California’s Pacific salmon have gone into the tank…but at least there’s one population of salmon in the state that seems healthy — the kokanee of Taylor Creek. I was there a week or so back and snapped a few pix…

Thank you for te great pictures. When I was a kid at Tahoe (50″s 60′s) We lived on Trout creek. They would fill every hole in that creek that was deeper that your ankle. What fun.

Awesome! I’ve been meaning to take the kids up to Taylor Creek. Whats the best month?

Typically, mid October is best. A great place for kids!

Great pics, dude. I like the way you framed the carcass showing the surrounding foliage, totally a ying yang, circle-of-life moment there.
