Time for Kings on the Cowlitz!

three Cowlitz kings

Washington State’s Cowlitz River may be famously known for its summer and winter steelies, but it’s also a darn good salmon stream. In fact, there’s a good clip of kings in the river at the moment and fishing looks like it’s going to hold up for several weeks to come.

Guide Jeremy Warter of Kick Ass Fishing has been putting a hurtin’ on some big kings lately…take Friday for example, when he got two 32 pounders, a 25 pounder and a 15.

Big Jer with a nice king!

“The king should go through the second week of October,” says Warter. “And, of course, we’re expected to get a huge number of coho this year, too — something like 100,000!”

Heavy load...good thing the dude's got some guns!

Jeremy is one of the most innovative guides I’ve been around…he’s always thinking, always perfecting his program. I’ve learned a lot from him and so can you — one day on the water is like taking an advanced graduate course on salmon and steelie fishing.

He’ll be on the Cowlitz all fall and winter. Kings, cohos and steelies…yeah baby!
