I’m more chrome than a salmon and fight twice as hard as one of the same size.
I like warm water south of the border and eat, well, anything that tries to run from me.
I enjoy near-shore areas — especially sandy bottoms that have some nice rocks and weed beds.
I’m not afraid to eat stuff off the surface and, if you ever fish for me, don’t be surprised it I come up and take your lure right off the top!
Can you name me??

You can have the world’s hottest new steelhead plug in fishiest color of all time, but if that thing isn’t tuned right, you’d be lucky to catch a squawfish….

Workers at an English fish farm started noticing that they were missing a bunch of trout from their holding ponds…turns out the “Great Fish Escape” was on! Noted wildlife photographer Dennis Bright caught the little buggers in action:

I went to the UK to try to interview some of the trout that were still in the pond. On the condition that they remain anonymous, I’ve obtained (with the help of a couple jars of Power Bait and a cup of mini crawlers) the secret documents that the trout have been using and now, I’ll share them with you here:

Hey, it’s none of my business what goes on between consenting adults. If the fish was a halfpounder, however….

Just one question….what is the boat doing inside the surf line??? Just be glad you’re not the poor bastard in the bow of the boat — watch him closely!

The 2008 FLW Professional Bass Tour is set to kick off in February and our man, Big Fred Contaoi of Orange County Choppers, will be there rearing to go.
Big Boy learned a lot during his rookie campaign and heads into his sophomore season with a lot of confidence.
He ended the 2007 season on a high note, with a strong finish at Clear Lake in October, where he landed the biggest fish of the tournament and placed 15th.
His “off-season” has been spent honing his skills and working with sponsors. He also just took part in NASCAR driver Ryan Newman’s Charity Bass Tournament in North Carolina last weekend.
Fred’s new webpage, BigFredFishing will be up soon and will feature all kinds of cool tips, tactics and maybe even a tour journal.
This season, Fred will participate in select FLW Series events across the country in addition to his Tour events.
Be sure to check back here for Big Fred updates throughout the year. I’ll also keep you abreast of his TV schedule for American Chopper and whatever else he finds himself on!
